The Bespoke Process
Every bespoke piece takes the same path, whether you arrive with a finished sketch or nothing more than a feeling. Here is exactly what happens, and what we will need from you at each stage.

Discovery
You tell us what you are imagining. That might be a sketch, a photograph, a stone you already own, or nothing more than a feeling about the person who will wear it.
Fill in the enquiry and one of us will be in touch within 24 hours. We will talk it through by phone, by video call, or here in the Melbourne studio if you are local. By the end of that conversation you will know what is possible, roughly what it costs, and how long it will take.
Nothing at this stage commits you to anything.

Design
Then the stone, which is the part we love most. We keep direct relationships with gem miners and cutters, so instead of a catalogue you get real options put in front of you, chosen for your design and your budget: diamond, sapphire, opal, or something rarer.
Once the stone and the design are settled you will receive a digitally rendered drawing of the finished piece alongside a final quote, with every detail written down before anything is made.
Natural diamonds GIA certified and conflict free under the Kimberley Process; lab-grown IGI certified. We use recycled gold and silver wherever possible.

Delight
When you approve the drawing and the quote, a 50% deposit secures your stones and books the piece into the workshop. The balance is invoiced once it is finished, and we will keep you posted while it is being made.
After that it is yours, and it carries our lifetime warranty against any manufacturing fault, for as long as you bring it back to us for a service every 12 months. The service is $150 and covers a clean, a polish, and a full inspection of every claw and setting. A complimentary ultrasonic clean is yours once a year either way.
Deposits are non-refundable, and because a bespoke piece is made for one person it cannot be returned or exchanged.

Yours
We let you know the day it is finished. You can collect it here in the studio and see it in daylight for the first time, or we will send it to you with complimentary insured shipping.

Not every commission starts from nothing. These seven arrived as something already owned and no longer worn, and went back out in daily rotation. Same gold, same stones, same history.

Before you ask
Questions we are asked most
Every piece in the Ceremonial collection is already made to order. Bespoke goes further: you choose your own combination of stones, metal colour and karat, and any meaningful details you want built in: a hidden birthstone set beneath the setting, for instance.
Yes, and we love it. Heirloom stones and stones of significance can be reset into something new, and old metal can be recycled into the piece rather than sold.
If you are after a particular stone you do not have yet, email info@whitenovember.com.au and we will look into sourcing it through one of our ethical suppliers.
Usually, yes, but tell us the date in your enquiry rather than afterwards, because it changes what we can sensibly propose. If it is tight, say so and we will check it against the workshop schedule before you commit to anything.
A 50% deposit is required once you have approved the design and the quote. Production does not begin until it has been received. The remaining balance is invoiced when the piece is finished, and it is ready for collection or shipping once that balance is paid.
Deposits are non-refundable, and bespoke pieces cannot be returned or exchanged.
Afterpay and Zip are both available at checkout for online purchases, subject to each provider's own approval limit.

Bespoke pieces in gold or platinum carry a lifetime warranty against any product or manufacturing fault, for as long as the piece is serviced by us every 12 months. The service is $150. Damage that is not a fault (a chipped gemstone, say) is assessed case by case, and we will always quote before doing anything.
Resizing is complimentary within 60 days of purchase, and $110 after that. Please come back to us rather than another jeweller: work done elsewhere voids the warranty.
